If ever anyone deserves a headline, it’s Helen Gordon Davis! It’s well known what she’s doneto champion the rights of women while in the legislature and in her “civilian” life as well. Now there’ll be a visible tribute to that support – the newly named Helen Gordon Davis Centre for Women. Acting on the recommendation of Dore Beach and Susan Dellinger, the Centre’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to make the change. Helen, our heartiest congratulations……we are thrilled for you! Just prior to that announcement, more than 400 women (and a sprinkling of men) attended the First Annual Helen Gordon Davis Waves of Change Women’s Leadership Award luncheon. Recipient of this first award was another champion of women,internationally known Gloria Steinem. The 50+ Athena members who attended agreed the event was a resounding success.
