Betty Castor and Kathy Castor have been named the 2014 recipients of the Person of Vision Award presented by Prevent Blindness Florida. First presented in 1980 with almost 50 statewide recipients through the years, the award recognizes the impact that honorees have had on the region, state, and nation through their personal vision and service to the community. Previous winners include Athenians Pat Frank, Judy Genshaft, and Alex Sink. Betty and Kathy will be toasted at the Person of Vision Award Dinner on March 20 at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort. Lorna Taylor and Jim Davis are dinner co-chairs, and information is available at www.preventblindnessfl.org. Proceeds of the dinner provide eye exams and glasses for children and adults who cannot afford vision services, giving them independence to read, drive, and work.
