On June 22 Gwynne Young was installed as President of The Florida Bar, an organization of 90,000+ members. To read a really fascinating article about Gwynne in The Florida Bar Journal, click here. One of her first acts as Bar President was to appoint Susan Grady and Linda Goldstein to three-year terms on The Florida Bar Citizens Forum. The mission of the Citizens Forum is to provide a vehicle for two-way communication between Florida’s major constituencies and The Florida Bar, to inform and educate the public about significant legal-justice issues and to gain public understanding and support. The Forum functions in an advisory capacity to the Bar’s Board of Governors, divisions, sections, committees and staff – offering recommendations, suggestions and opinions relating to existing or prospective Bar programs and activities.
