The  U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)  sent a team of scientists from the St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center and the University of South Florida (USF) to board the USCGC Healy in Barrow, Alaska for a 4-week excursion in the Arctic Ocean. Lisa Robbins is part of the team that will measure baseline seawater chemistry of the Arctic Ocean to gain an improved understanding of ocean acidification in polar regions. The USGS link provides an account of Lisa’s journey.  http://coastal.er.usgs.gov/ocean-acidification/arcticcruise2012/
